Zaditor generic Ketotifen is an antihistamine and functions by hampering the production of chemicals from cells that trigger allergic reactions. The soothing eye drops give you relief from itching for up to 12 hours. Ketotifen prohibits the release of mediators from mast cells that cause hypersensitive reactions. It prevents inflammation, itching, or allergies of an eye.
Direction for using Zaditor-
Wash your hands before using Zaditor eye drops, then tilt your head and open your eye pouch and instill single eye drop. Close your eyes for some time. Apply pressure at the corner of an eyelid for 1 to 2 min. Remove extra medicine with tissue paper.
Dosage information of Zaditor-
The usual adult dose for eradicating allergic conjunctivitis is a single drop in the affected eye, two times per day. The pediatric dose for preventing allergic conjunctivitis is a single drop in affected eye, two times per day. If you forgot any dose, use it as soon as you recall or if next dosing time is nearby then begin from that day.
Contraindications with Zaditor-
- Never instill if you are allergic to Ketotifen.
- Do not use if you have some other eye problem apart from allergy without medical advice.
- Zaditor should not be used in children who are less than three years of age.
- Do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding mothers without doctor advice.
Warnings and precautions to follow with Zaditor-
- Remove your contact lenses before using Zaditor eye drops. Reinsert lenses after 10 min of using eye drops.
- Avoid touching the tip of dropper, as doing so will contaminate the whole solution.
- Contact your doctor if you observe mild stinging.
- It is advised not to use any other eye drop if you are using Zaditor.
Storage condition of Zaditor-
After each use, close the bottle. Keep away from small children in cool, dry, and moisture-free place. Store at a safe place away from small children.
Some ill effects with Zaditor-
Some side effects of using Zaditor are eye discharge, eyelid disorder, burning or dry eyes, inflammation of cornea, nasal congestion, sensitivity to light, tearing, eye pain, stinging, nasal congestion, and swelling of face or mouth.
